A Look Behind the Lens
Hi, I'm Rachel Lott.
Thanks for being here with me!
I am an Oregon State University graduate, holding a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries & Wildlife with a specialization field in Wildlife Rehabilitation. I am actively volunteering with the Desert Bighorn Sheep Connectivity Project through Oregon State University & the National Park Service to remotely process trail camera data to help describe wildlife movement along the borders of the Mojave National Preserve.
Well...what am I doing taking photographs then?
Photography has been my growing passion for the past 10 years - as you will usually find me with my camera around my neck on my many adventures outdoors with my family. I am self-taught by inspiration found in nature, & I feel an urgency to share new perspectives & ways of seeing the world by capturing life's beauty in moments of time. The closer you become to nature, the closer you see it reflected in yourself & on the faces of people you pass by each day. Let me help you see the connection we have with the Earth through the universal expression of love. I look forward to sharing my captures with you while continuously searching for new inspiration to photograph on my journey through life.
Let's Get Personal
What are some things that make me who I am?
I am a wife to my loving husband & a mother to our two energetic kids. I grew up in central Michigan, but spent many years finding adventures in other states as we moved from Texas to Colorado for my husband's military career. I'm 29-years old, & I love the smell of old books & freshly brewed coffee on a crisp Autumn morning. I love all things October, yet I find pleasure in Spring afternoons where flowers bloom underneath the warming sun. At night you will always find me gazing up into the expanse of space - star gazing for hours & absorbed in complete appreciation for the utter simplicity of life. There is something breathtaking in motion around us that we can't always see - but once it's found we can feel it everywhere. I'm captivated by the wilderness & the wild unknown. I leave pieces of my heart where I travel, & at home I love to bake. I love to capture the small, beautiful, everyday moments of life that reflect the living quality of the world.
Yours Truly,
Rachel
